Description
The Steinway Model ‘B’ is arguably the most sought after piano in the Steinway & Sons line. Until changes in the American Steinway over the last 15-20 years or so, the Hamburg-Built Steinways were overwhelmingly preferred over their American-Built counterparts.
This one is of the Vintage (1970) that Hamburg Steinways were in that most-sought-after category. While still highly desired today the price differential (and other factors) between Hamburg and American Steinways makes them out of reach for most.
This piano has had a ‘light-use’ life. No need to replace parts or rebuild in any way. Our Master Steinway Technician has gone through and prepared it as though it was going to the concert stage. It plays flawlessly, with a light, but highly responsive action (Renner – German) and a bell-like tone that is uniquely “Steinway”. Original parts and original Ivory Keys.
Match that with the hand-laid, matchbook veneer of Sapele Mahogany, and high polish finish and you have a work of art from both a tone and furniture aspect. A “Must See” if there ever was one.
- Included in “The Proprietor’s Collection” – Which includes Steinway & Sons, Bösendorfer, Mason & Hamlin and Premium (CF-series) Yamaha pianos.
We are encouraging appointments to see it on a first-call, first-scheduled basis.
